Anastasia Young’s Jewelry Design and Technique Books

I love to introduce people to new jewelry techniques and amazing resources so that they can better prepare themselves for their own jewelry making.

A great source I have discovered is Anastasia Young, a budding designer herself, she has created several books on the subject of Jewelry Design and Techniques.

(Normally, I would include a photograph of the author but Anastasia doesn’t like to be photographed and believes her work should speak for itself.)

Two of my favorite books of hers are:

The Workbench Guide to Jewelry Techniques-

Jewelry Techniques: The Essential Guide to Choosing and Using Materials, Stones and Settings-

Anastasia Young is a great resource for anyone wanting to learn the art of making jewelry, whether it be wire wrapping or metalworking.  She is a huge resource for me in my work and even though I already know how to make jewelry, she has helped with her unique sections on how to photograph your finished jewelry, how to price your jewelry and how to market yourself, which you can find in the The Workbench Guide to Jewelry Techniques.

Some of Anastasia’s Work:

Just because I think it’s important for you to see all aspects of jewelry making, I have included a photo of Young’s Bench where she makes hers:

Anastaia is also a jewelry designer herself, having won awards for her eclectic, industrial designs, as well as having some of them be featured in her instructional books.

She’s currently working on several gallery exhibitions and also teaches jewelry at Artscom at Central Saint Martins University of Arts in London and has done several collaborations with Swarovski and The British Art Metal Society.
